A Duckie Celebration

The day of Irie’s party finally arrived, it was a nice day, not to hot like it could be at the end of August. I spent most of the day at Carson’s parents’ house getting everything ready. Mainly the cakes, they took most of the day but they turned out really cute…. If I do say so myself. The kids had fun in the pool with all the rubber duckies that were in the pool. There were a ton of people that came to celebrate the day, and all the work was totally worth it.

The Cake I worked all day on. This was the one for everyone.
The bottom cake was a Costco cake that I decorated.

I can’t believe that my baby is a year old already it seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home for the first time. She's walking all over the place and babbling more and more everyday. I had the family over for dinner and presents. Here are a few cute shots.

Irie carried this outfit around with her for like 10 minutes

I wrecked my Jeep

I wrecked my jeep today. And here is the kicker; I was headed to my mom’s office to change our insurance. I was turning right on to Francis off of 52nd (Foster) heading to the Decorette shop to get something for Irie’s birthday party on Saturday. When something on the left caught my eye and I turned without looking, the lady saw me and tried to get out of the way but by the time I saw her it was to late, either hit her or the parked truck on the side of the road. No one was hurt but the other lady was shaken. It was her first accident. My Jeep wasn’t as bad as it looks but the bumper and the grill were all one piece and that is what took all the impact, so the whole thing popped off. But still it was totaled.

Garage Sale

My mom and a few friends decided to have a garage sale. And my mom hates Garage sales so you can imagine the desire to get rid of the rest of the stuff from my grandmas apartment. But she couldn’t be there to help with it so I got to go and help. Which I really don’t mind garage sales once all the work is done, you just have to sit there and take the money. But here are a few cute shots of Irie from the sale.

Swimming in the front yard

We got home and got all unloaded; Irie was playing with the box for her pool so we decided that we would blow it up for her. Let me tell you that pool was a heck of a lot bigger then I thought it was going to be, and then there was a top for the dang thing too. Luckily we had a pump for the yoga ball that we used; still it took a while to get it all blown up. But Irie had fun in it and that is all that matters right?

The Ward Campout

In like January it was announced that we would be having a ward camp out the last weekend in July. My mom reserved a Yert for us to stay in. The months passed and the camp out came nearer. The plan was for everyone to go. Well now it is the week of the camp out and AJ found out that his troop was going to have to do something drill related. So he wasn’t going to be able to go. Then he was told that is troop wasn’t doing that so then he was going. (For those of you that don’t know) My dad works on the temple grounds for the church, and the Shut Down schedule changed this year for some reason, and so he wasn’t going to be able to get the time off because of shut down. Carson ended up staying home with Shotgun because that weekend the temperature was in the 100’s and we were going over by Bend and it was just to hot for the black dog. Then Wednesday AJ found out that his troop was having Drill that weekend so now he can’t go. So now it is just me my mom and Irie going. And we are wondering if it is even worth going. We decided that we had already paid so we might as well go. Mom picks Irie and me up late Thursday morning to go to her house to pack the car. I get my mom’s Scion all packed and there is literally room for the 3 of us in the car and all kinds of stuff packed around Irie. Got everything we would need into the car except 2 folding chairs, which we sent with the Franzen’s (neighbors). We get up to camp and get all set up and had a good time; just us girls. Because of the heat we had to go into town to get Irie to take a nap, but that wasn’t so bad. It was nice to be in the AC for a little while. I was all worried about what toys to take Irie, turns out all she needed was the dirt and the rocks.

Crabbing

We went to Tillamook today to go crabbing. We went with Carson’s friend Dan and his wife Terry. We got down there about 7 in the morning, and Carson and Dan went out on the bay to set the traps. Came back in and waited a little bit before they went back out, only to find the traps full, with one limit. So they went back out to rebait. Came bake in for a half hour or so. Went to check the traps again and had another limit. When they came back in they told Terry and me to go get my shell fish tag so we could get one more limit. By noon we were limited out on 4 tags. Making a total of 48 dungenous crab and 5 red rock. Here is the proof.

9 Month Pictures

It's hard to believe Irie is already 9 mos. old. She babbles constantly, crawls everywhere, is standing and walking around items and beginning to stand alone without holding onto things. Before we know it, she will be running around. Here newest thing to say......UP.
