Helping with dinner

So I was trying to make dinner, a new recipe, last night and Irie was sitting on the counter watching me. Then she decided that she would "Help". I had bell peppers one of each color that I was getting ready to cut up and she picked up each one and tried to eat it like an apple.

And then as I got them cut into strips she picked up a strip of each color and chewed on it.

This one is my favorite pic of them all.

So dinner turned out really good and it was really quick and easy so I thought I would share the recipe. It is one of those that can be thrown together and you could use different kinds of veggies. Here you go ENJOY!!!!

Simple Sweet 'N Sour Meatball Simmer

12 oz frozen meatballs
1 package (16 oz) frozen stir-fry vegetables (sliced green yellow and red peppers and white onions)
1/4 cup apricot jam
1/4 cup Catalina Dressing
2 Tbsp. soy sause

COMBINE all ingredients in large skillet
COOK on medium-high 10 min or until meatballs and vegetables are heated through, stirring occasionally.
SERVE over hot rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes. If Desired

JAZZ IT UP For extra flavor add 1/2 tps. each ground ginger and garlic powder to the sauce while cooking.

I didn't get the right stir-fry mix so as you an see I just cut up fresh peppers. But Carson said it would be good with broccoli and carrots, or I think just about any of the stir-fry mixes. Hope you like it as much as I did.

Hospital

Last night we got a call that Carson's dad had fallen off the roof and spiral fractured his leg. So tonight we were in the hospital waiting for him to get out of surgery... to put a rod in his femur. As we were waiting I snapped these pictures. I liked how you can see her face in the side wall of the tank. I tried to get one with out stuff in her face but no such luck.

First night in her Crib

I know I know she is 7 months old and still hasn't slept in her crib at night. That is partly because the heater in her room has been broken for months, and her room was FREEZING. So I finally bought a space heater for her room. But that was only after I found out that her pack-n-play had been recalled. Even then it took me almost 2 months to put her in her room. When I went in to check on her this morning this is what I found...Yes that is the bumper from her crib OVER her, and that is not where it was when I put her to bed last night. It was where it should have been.

Irie and Oakley

We also went to target with Jaime and Oakley today. When we were leaving Irie stole Oakley's bink. So Oakley stole Irie's.

Build -a- Bear

Today Jaime and I took the girls to the mall to see the Easter Bunny, and he "had a tummy ache" said the small sign on the fence. So we decided to walk the mall since we were there anyway and ended up at Build-a-Bear. I wasn't going to get Irie anything since I made a Lamb just a few weeks before. But the lady in the store said that there were a few that were retiring including the frog, the lamb (that she has) and the Elephant. Well I really liked the elephant and when I showed it to Irie her eyes just lit up. So I decided that I would get it for her for her Easter present. Something else New

Monday after Irie had said mama I went to work. After I got home from work Irie and I went to see AJ's high school girlfriend Jamie who was home (in Oregon) for a few days. Irie went straight to her ... No surprise. AJ was also at Jamie's when we got there. Jamie carried Irie out to her mom's sewing house in the back yard, where AJ was. AJ was so mad. (oh for those who don't know this story would make more since if I saw Irie will go to ANYONE except AJ. She is getting better but still won't stay with him for more then a minute or to.) So Irie finally went to AJ and after a minute or two started to fuss. what did she do she reached for Jamie (who at this point she has known for all of 10 - 15 minutes tops). I laughed, Jamie laughed and AJ pouted.

After we left Jamie's we headed to my mom and dad. We were there for a while when we were getting ready to go home, my mom was waving bye-bye to Irie and what did she do... Flapped her arm once waving bye-bye back. But my mom missed it. Then my dad waved good bye and she did it to him too. Flapped her arm twice. Then today Irie and I were at my moms work and there she waved bye-bye to everyone who said bye to her.

She is getting to be such a big girl.

Irie's First Word!!!

Irie said her first word today.... Mama!!!!
She has been saying it for a while now but not on purpose. But today she was sitting in her high chair and was talking to herself (or her imaginary friends) and I looked at her and said "Mama" and she looked back at me and said "Mmm mma mama" and said it several times after that. I am excited. She is getting so big so fast.

Irie eats Dog food

Irie has finally figured out that she can travel farther then the living room. She likes to play... eat... Shotgun's dog food. She is so proud of her self can you tell.

I don't think she really has a mouth full it just looks like it. I do know she got one piece in her mouth and I thought I got it but whether it be from the dog food or coincidence she was up sick that night.
